Heartbreaking: Family Confirms Loss After Police ID Shooting Victim on Baltimore-Washington Parkway!
Baltimore police have identified a young man who was tragically shot on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway last Thursday morning. The victim, 22-year-old Isaiah Shackleford, was found by officers at around 8:41 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the parkway near the exit for Annapolis Road.
Shackleford had been shot critically and was discovered inside his car at the scene. On Monday, Shackleford’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news that he had passed away.
According to family members, Isaiah was on his way home after finishing a delivery shift for DoorDash when the incident happened.
He was driving his grey 2017 Mazda 3 along South Monroe Street, heading toward the ramp for the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. It was near the exit for Annapolis Road that he was found fatally injured by gunfire.
The news of Shackleford’s death has left his family in shock and grief. His sister, Hope Shackleford, shared her disbelief over the senseless act of violence, expressing, “It’s hard to believe that people could be that angry, that you would pull out a gun in traffic.
There are children on the road; people could have been taking their children to daycare, other moms, dads, and other people’s children on the road—and for you to just pull out a gun and so brazenly start shooting in traffic is insanity.”
As of now, the police have not released any further details on possible suspects or what might have led to the shooting. They are asking anyone who may have seen what happened or has any information to come forward. Those with information can contact the Baltimore Police Department at 410-396-2499 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
