A Morris County ice cream shop is grieving the loss of a young employee who died in a car crash over the weekend.

Das’ Creamery, located in Budd Lake, is remembering Cameron Ray, a 19-year-old who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle accident on Route 80 in Denville, New Jersey.

This incident occurred early Sunday morning, and New Jersey State Police reported the details.

Das’ Creamery shared a heartfelt message on Facebook to honor Cameron. They expressed their sorrow, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected loss of our Cam.

He was a force of nature — a heart full of love and kindness, and an energy that lifted everyone around him.”

Mount Olive’s Mayor, Joe Nicastro, also expressed his condolences to Cameron’s family and friends in a Facebook post on Monday.

He wrote, “Our prayers go out to the family of Cameron Ray on their loss. Sending you strength today and peace in all the days ahead.”

According to reports, Cameron was traveling west on Route 80 around 5:40 a.m. Sunday when he struck the rear of a box truck that was parked on the shoulder.

The driver of the truck only sustained minor injuries from the crash, which is currently under investigation.
