Houston Tragedy: Four Siblings Injured in Home Shooting Linked to Social Media Feud!

Three masked suspects are on the run after a late-night shooting in southeast Houston left four siblings, aged 10 to 16, injured. According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting took place around 9 p.m. on Thursday at a home located on Collier Street near Carrollton Street.

Family members revealed that all four victims are siblings. The shooting is believed to be connected to an ongoing social media feud involving one of the injured children and another individual from the neighborhood. The incident has shaken the community, which has recently experienced several similar acts of violence.

Neighbors in the area, including Mario Flores, have voiced their concerns. Flores recounted an incident from a few weeks ago when a stray bullet struck his daughter’s house. He explained that gunshots were fired from the direction of the bayou, with one round penetrating their home and causing damage.

The four siblings suffered varying degrees of injury. A family member shared with ABC13 that two of the children were seriously hurt. The 15-year-old boy remains in the ICU after being shot in the stomach, which led to the loss of part of his colon.

His recovery is expected to be long and challenging. The 14-year-old girl was also severely injured, with a bullet passing through her thigh. The other two siblings, a 16-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, were also injured but are expected to be released from the hospital by Friday.

Assistant Chief Megan Howard of the Houston Police Department provided additional details about the incident. She stated that the suspects approached the home’s door and called for the occupants to come outside.

When the door was opened, two of the suspects reportedly fired their pistols into the house, resulting in injuries to the four children. The suspects were all wearing masks and fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Family members believe they know the identity of at least one of the suspects and have shared this information with the police. They hope the suspects will be apprehended soon.

Despite the recent violence, the neighborhood is described as a generally peaceful and family-oriented community. Molly Reagan Salazar, a local community organizer and advocate, expressed her concern over the rising crime and the impact it has on the children in the area.

She mentioned ongoing efforts to implement crime and gang prevention programs to support at-risk youth and reduce the likelihood of such incidents occurring in the future.

Salazar and other community members are planning to organize a gang prevention and social event to foster stronger relationships among neighbors.
