LA Man Charged With Child Sexual Abuse and Pornography in Los Angeles County Schools and Childcare, Investigation Ongoing
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón stated today that Andrew Sandoval of South Gate has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing two boys in Los Angeles County between November 2015 and this year.
Sandoval has already in arrested, and authorities are looking for other victims because his employment history covers hundreds of schools and childcare facilities in Los Angeles County.
“The abhorrent nature of these crimes against children and the defendant’s employment in schools and childcare settings is of tremendous concern, and we are asking for anyone who may have additional information to come forward,” the district attorney, Gascón, said. “We’re committed to seeking justice, and the courage to come forward can ensure justice for those who have been harmed.”
The matter is being investigated by the South Gate Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department. Further inquiry has indicated that there may be more victims.
“The South Gate Police Department will always work diligently with our local, county, and federal partners to investigate any crime against children,” South Gate Police Chief Darren Arakawa declared. “The gravity of this case emphasizes the importance of investing in the resources required to investigate, pursue, and convict suspects involved in all forms of child exploitation and abuse.

As part of its ongoing investigation, law enforcement is contacting dozens of schools and childcare centers where Sandoval worked to confirm the breadth and duration of his responsibilities. Once validated, the list of schools and daycare facilities will be made public.
Andrew Louie Sandoval (born 09/24/96) is charged in case 24DWCF00722 with seven counts of lewd acts on a child under the age of 14; one count of sodomy with a child 10 years old or younger; two counts of oral copulation with a child 10 years old or younger; and one count of possessing more than 600 images of child or youth pornography.
Sandoval is expected to be arraigned on August 13 in Norwalk Courthouse Department J.
Sandoval is accused of sexually assaulting youngsters from four to nine years old on multiple occasions in Los Angeles County between November 2015 and this year.
South Gate police seized electronic evidence, including hundreds of child pornography photographs allegedly found on Sandoval’s electronic device.
Sandoval was detained on July 24.
Sandoval is being jailed for $7,050,000 bail. If found guilty as charged, he faces a maximum term of life in jail.
The South Gate Police Department is currently investigating this crime. The Los Angeles Police Department is collaborating with the inquiry.
