According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began near Route 147 and Route 67 in Charlton when State Police reported that a vehicle had fled the scene. Deputies located a car matching the description and began following it as it traveled south on Route 147.
When deputies confirmed it was the suspected vehicle, they attempted to stop the car. However, the driver refused to comply and continued driving, leading authorities on a pursuit into Glenville. The chase ended when the driver, identified as Mango, lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the road and struck an embankment, officials said.
After the crash, Mango reportedly exited the car and attempted to flee on foot. Deputies quickly apprehended him, and during his arrest, they allegedly found four grams of cocaine in his possession.
Mango faces several charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, which is a class D felony. He was also charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, a class A misdemeanor, along with infractions for speeding and failing to use the designated lane.
Authorities stated that Mango was released on appearance tickets for these charges, pending further legal proceedings. After his release, he was handed over to the Schenectady Police Department due to active warrants.
