Man Arrested in Vermont: DUI, Heroin Possession, and Criminally Suspended License!

A man from Ticonderoga, New York, is now facing several charges after a car crash in Waltham, Vermont, early on Sunday. Vermont State Police reported that at around 12:16 a.m., officers responded to the scene of a crash on US Route 7 near the intersection with Woodman Court in Waltham.

When police arrived at the crash site, they discovered that Jimmy L. Bell, a 43-year-old man from New York, had been driving the vehicle involved in the accident. Further investigation revealed that Bell had been driving on a public road with a criminally suspended driver’s license in Vermont.

As police spoke with Bell, they noticed signs that he might be impaired. Based on these observations, they arrested him under suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs and driving with a suspended license (DLS). The situation took a more serious turn when officers found Bell in possession of 5.1 grams of heroin.

Following his arrest, Bell was taken to the Middlebury Police Department for processing. It was here that officers discovered Bell had failed to appear in court a total of fourteen times in the past. Due to these previous failures and the new charges against him, Bell was held at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility with bail set at $250.00, as ordered by the court.
