North Carolina Man Arrested with AR-15 Near NY Fair Amidst High Security!
The Great New York State Fair, a popular annual event, saw a dramatic turn of events when Curtis D. Young, a 34-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested for carrying an illegal weapon. Young was spotted acting suspiciously near the Fairgrounds Boulevard exit on I-690, where many fairgoers park their vehicles.
New York State Police officers, who were patrolling the area, noticed Young’s unusual behavior and decided to investigate. During their interaction, Young admitted to having an AR-15 rifle and a 30-round magazine in his truck. Both items are prohibited in New York State, especially near such a high-profile event.
Young was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, which is a Class D Felony. He was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center for arraignment. The police have not revealed Young’s plans, and the investigation is still ongoing.
The New York State Fair, which runs through Labor Day, remains a focal point for law enforcement, who are working diligently to ensure the safety of all attendees.
