NYC Police Investigate Gang-Linked Teen Stabbing Amid Social Media Threats!

A violent street brawl in Manhattan, linked to a youth gang connected to Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua crew, has sparked threats of revenge.

A 17-year-old migrant, Yeremi Colino, was fatally stabbed during the fight, leaving the community on edge, according to police.

The gang, known as Los Diablos de la 42 (“The Devils of 42nd Street”), is reportedly posting threats on social media after Colino’s tragic death.

Assistant Chief Jason Savino of the NYPD’s Detective Bureau said the gang shared condolences online but also issued a chilling warning: “Every Cocolo shot.” The term “Cocolo” refers to Afro-Caribbean migrants, pointing to gang rivalry as a motive.

The deadly fight happened on Broadway near John Street on Thursday evening, around 7:30 PM. Yeremi Colino was punched, kicked, and stabbed in the chest during the fight, officials said.

A Walgreens employee witnessed the scene and rushed Colino into the store, despite his severe injuries and the knife still in his chest.

Colino, who was carrying identification from the Roosevelt Hotel migrant shelter, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital but was declared dead. An 18-year-old, also believed to be a migrant, suffered a knife injury on his arm but survived.

Police are calling the incident a “crew-motivated” attack. Investigators learned that Colino’s group approached their rivals after they reportedly flashed gang signs. However, video evidence suggests that Colino’s crew may have started the confrontation.

Surveillance footage shows the victims’ group running towards a rival group of six males. Both sides were armed. Before Colino was stabbed, he appeared to swing an unknown object at his attacker. At the scene, police recovered two wooden sticks and a pair of pliers, in addition to the knife used in the stabbing.

Contrary to earlier reports, there is no proof that the suspects asked the victims if they spoke English before the attack.

The NYPD released a video showing three suspects fleeing after the clash, escaping through the Fulton Street subway station. Photos also show one suspect carrying a backpack with a lip design on it.

Anyone with details about this incident is urged to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish.
