NYC School Shooting Incident: Teacher Wounded by Bullet Fired from Distance!

A teacher in New York City was injured by a stray bullet just before the first day of school. The incident happened on Wednesday at a middle school in the Bronx. The teacher, a 33-year-old man, was setting up his classroom on the sixth floor when the bullet flew through the window and hit him in his right hand.

The bullet was fired from a distance, possibly from an elevated location far from the school, M.S. 391. According to the police, the school was not targeted. The teacher received a minor injury—a graze wound on his hand. He was taken to a local hospital but has since been released and is in stable condition.

Police have found the bullet that struck the teacher and are currently processing it. They are trying to find out where it came from and who fired it. Investigators are searching nearby rooftops for evidence and reviewing surveillance footage to gather more information.

Fortunately, no students were present in the classroom or around the school at the time of the shooting, as classes were scheduled to start the following day. The NYC Department of Education expressed their shock and condemnation of the incident, calling it “both upsetting and reprehensible.”

They assured me that support would be provided to the school community. To ensure safety on the first day of school, additional school safety agents and police officers will be present at the middle school.
