Ohio Mother murdered while attempting to prevent her 6-year-old son from being stolen out of a car

The car struck the mother, an Ohioan mother with a 6-year-old boy inside, killing her as she attempted to stop the two men stealing her car.

According to the authorities, the youngster was uninjured and there were no further injuries noted.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Pickerington resident Alexa Stakely, 29, went to an apartment building in Columbus to pick up her kid from a babysitter. Stakely, a single mother who worked as a speech-language pathologist for the Canal Winchester Local Schools system, had just completed a shift as a waitress, according to Columbus police.

After bringing the sleeping boy to her running car, Stakely went back to the babysitter’s apartment to get the child’s possessions, according to the police. Stakely sprinted toward her car as soon as she spotted someone beginning to back it out onto the road, yelling for her kid and yelling at the driver to stop.

After the car hit Stakely, he was knocked to the pavement and sustained a head injury. At a hospital, they declared her dead.

After leaving the automobile not far from the scene of Stakely’s hit-and-run, the two guys fled by leaping a fence and entering a nearby apartment building, according to the police. On Friday, they were still at large.

Police claimed the group of guys spotted on surveillance footage earlier that morning in another neighboring complex appeared to fit the description of the males who were subsequently seen sprinting past Stakely. (Source)
