Police Pursuit Leads to Serious Accident: Man on Bike Struck by Car in Schenectady!
Schenectady Police shut down Veeder Avenue for several hours after a man they were pursuing was hit by a car. The incident occurred around 5:28 PM when officers spotted the suspect near Franklin Street and Nott Terrace.
The man was already wanted for multiple traffic violations from the previous day, including fleeing from police.
As officers attempted to approach him, the suspect fled on his electric bike. During the chase, he rode into moving traffic on Veeder Avenue, near Smith Street. At that point, he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was seriously injured and taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Authorities reported that he would be issued appearance tickets. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident is cooperating with the investigation.
