In a major bust this week, police arrested three New Jersey residents who were involved in stealing checks from business mailboxes in townships across the state. These arrests highlight the ongoing issue of theft from mailboxes, a crime that has seen a rise in recent years. Criminals target businesses because they know that many business owners send and receive checks through the mail, making it a lucrative crime. Law enforcement encourages businesses to take extra precautions, like using secure mail services or electronic transfers, to avoid falling victim to these kinds of schemes.
