Shocking Albany Incident: Four Officers Injured in High-Speed Crash While Responding to Call!

Four police officers from Albany were hurt in a two-car crash while responding to a call about a domestic issue, according to a report by WNYT. On September 18, the situation started when officers arrived to deal with a domestic violence suspect who refused to cooperate.

Due to his resistance, the officers requested more help. During the arrest, two officers came into contact with powder cocaine that the suspect had on him, leading to them being taken to the hospital for treatment.

While two additional police units were rushing to assist from another part of town, they got into a collision. All four officers involved in the crash had head injuries, with two suffering severe injuries, and one officer had a serious leg injury. Despite these injuries, Albany Police Department Chief Eric Hawkins assured the public that none of the officers were facing life-threatening conditions.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan later shared that all four officers have been able to communicate with the medical staff, showing signs of improvement. The suspect, who resisted arrest, now faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of governmental administration, and harassment.
