Shocking Albany Shooting Update: Man Pleads Guilty to Fatal Crime!
A man has admitted to being involved in a deadly shooting that happened in Albany earlier this year.
Daquan Arrington, 24, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Tuesday to first-degree manslaughter. He admitted to causing the death of 29-year-old Javon Ward in a shooting that took place on June 5 at around 1:45 a.m.
The incident occurred near Second and Quail streets in Albany. Ward was tragically shot in the back and later pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.
The same shooting also injured two others: a 46-year-old woman who was shot in the leg and a 13-year-old who suffered a graze wound on their arm.
Arrington is set to be sentenced on January 27, where he faces 25 years in prison, followed by 5 years of supervision after his release.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, Arrington pleaded guilty to a separate incident involving criminal possession of a weapon. This charge is tied to a “shots fired” incident on May 26. The sentencing for that case is scheduled for January 17.
