Shocking Arrest: Three Flee Stolen Car and Crash into Police Vehicle in Watervliet!
Watervliet Police Department, three people were arrested in Watervliet on September 26 after fleeing from a stolen car.
The suspects include 18-year-old Kemaury Everette and two juvenile boys. All three face the same charges:
- Third-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- Fourth-degree grand larceny
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
Police officers noticed a car parked near Third Street and 16th Street that had been reported stolen from Albany. They saw three individuals get into the vehicle.
When the police decided to take action, the trio fled on foot, leaving the car in gear. This caused the car to move forward and hit a police vehicle.
A short foot chase ensued, and officers quickly apprehended Everette and the two minors. During the arrest, police found stolen credit cards on the suspects. One of the juveniles was given an appearance ticket and released to his parents.
The other juvenile had outstanding warrants and was placed in the Capital District Secure Juvenile Detention Facility. Everette was also issued an appearance ticket and released.
