Shocking Attack: Four Men Charged for Vandalizing Woman’s Car in Guttenberg!
On June 12th, the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division received a call about an incident involving criminal damage to a vehicle near Lydia Drive and River Road.
Officers quickly responded to the scene after the report, according to a statement by Deputy Chief Ramadanovic.
When the officers arrived, they found out that several individuals had surrounded the victim. The attackers smashed her vehicle’s windows with bricks and attempted to pull her out of the car.
During the altercation, they managed to snatch her cell phone. The victim told the officers that this attack stemmed from a disagreement that took place earlier at a recording studio in Union City.
Following the dispute at the studio, the victim tried to escape by driving away. Unfortunately, a group of individuals followed her to Guttenberg, where the confrontation occurred.
After learning this information, the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) began a thorough investigation.
For two months, detectives worked tirelessly to gather evidence and piece together what happened during the incident.
In the end, the investigation led to the identification of four suspects: Youssouf Doumbouya, 20; Joseph Agyemang, also 20; Jonell Danforth, 24; and Shavar Williams, 29. All four suspects are from the Bronx, New York.
As a result of the investigation, on August 5th, the suspects were charged with multiple offenses, including robbery, two counts of criminal restraint, theft, criminal mischief, two counts of harassment, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and disorderly conduct.
The authorities issued complaint warrants for these charges because the suspects’ whereabouts were initially unknown.
The investigation led to two of the suspects, Doumbouya and Williams, being apprehended by the New York City Police Department.
They were then extradited to New Jersey, where they are now held at the Hudson County Correctional Center.
The remaining suspects, Agyemang and Danforth, were also arrested by the NYPD and are currently awaiting their extradition to New Jersey. Once they arrive, they, too, will be held at the Hudson County Correctional Center.
Deputy Chief Frank Pelaez praised the efforts of his team, stating, “I’d like to thank my officers and detectives for working so diligently to solve this investigation.
Also, I’d like to thank all of our law enforcement partners who have assisted us with this investigation, specifically the New York City Police Department’s Gun Violence Suppression Division.”
He added a stern message to those considering committing similar offenses in Guttenberg: “This should serve as a message to anyone that thinks they can come into the Town of Guttenberg and get away with committing such violent crimes and offenses.
