Shocking Attack: Woman Punched and Left Unconscious in Hoboken Park!

A woman in Hoboken is speaking out after her nanny was brutally attacked in a seemingly random incident while sitting in a busy park. The Halloween Day incident has left the community shocked and concerned.

The attack occurred in Hoboken’s Church Square Park, where police responded to reports of a man aggressively shouting and cursing at people, including children and elderly park-goers.

Witnesses report that the suspect, 31-year-old Troy Timberlake, suddenly became violent, assaulting multiple people in the area.

According to the source, Timberlake yelled at and spat on a woman sitting near the gazebo in the park. When she turned to respond, Timberlake reportedly struck her, following her as she attempted to leave and delivering several punches that ultimately rendered her unconscious.

The victim, a nanny affectionately known as “Bee,” was sitting alone when the assault began. Joelle Robertson, Bee’s employer, shared her disbelief, emphasizing that the attack was entirely unprovoked.

“She’s a caring, positive person who takes wonderful care of my children,” Robertson said. The incident visibly shook the children who were with Robertson.

The violence didn’t stop there. Timberlake also targeted another person in the park, striking a man in the back of the head near a playground. Hoboken emergency services arrived to assist the injured, and one individual was transported to the hospital for further medical attention.

Police have charged Timberlake with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault, endangering an injured victim, child cruelty, and refusal to provide fingerprints.

This was not Timberlake’s first encounter with the law; Hoboken Public Safety Director Kenneth Ferrante confirmed that Timberlake has had several prior arrests, including one other assault, in the past 13 months.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Timberlake is known to local authorities, who have dealt with him several times before.

The incident has left Hoboken residents questioning how someone with such a significant criminal record could remain on the streets.

“This attack was senseless and disturbing,” Robertson commented, echoing the sentiments of many who are shocked by the event.

In response to the incident, Hoboken police have increased their patrols around the park to reassure the public and deter any future issues.

Meanwhile, the community has come together to support Bee with a GoFundMe campaign, raising funds to assist with her medical expenses and recovery.

Bee is now recovering at home, though she remains in pain and faces a lengthy healing process. “She’s still very swollen and hurting, but we’re all hopeful for her recovery,” Robertson shared.
