Shocking GWB Carjacking Attempt: New Jersey Man Arrested with High-Capacity Magazine!

A 26-year-old man from New Jersey has been arrested after a two-car crash led to an attempted carjacking on Sunday evening, December 1, authorities said.

According to Port Authority police, Frederick Antonio Castillo and another man were involved in a car crash on the George Washington Bridge (GWB).

The incident escalated when Castillo and his accomplice ran toward the second car involved in the accident. A woman was inside the car, but she quickly locked the doors when the men approached.

One of the suspects reportedly held a gun and demanded that the woman open her car doors. Thankfully, she refused, and the men eventually fled the scene. The woman was not injured during the incident, authorities confirmed.

Port Authority police later arrested Castillo. He has been charged with attempted robbery, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and possession of hollow-point bullets. The second suspect is still on the run.

Police have not released more details about Castillo’s hometown in New Jersey or the identity of the other suspect.

This alarming incident highlights the importance of staying alert, especially when involved in an accident. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation to locate the second suspect.
