Shocking Incident: 77-Year-Old Man Attacked by Vicious Pit Bulls in Los Angeles
A 77-year-old man, Jose Rodriguez, was recently attacked by three pit bulls while walking down the street in his Los Angeles neighborhood. The incident has raised concerns about dog safety and left the community shaken.
According to Jose’s daughter, Lupita Rodriguez, her father was going about his usual walk when the pit bulls surrounded him. She described the terrifying scene where the dogs began to attack, focusing on his lower body.
“They started mauling him from his waist down,” Lupita said, explaining that her father tried to grab onto a fence to hold himself up and escape the attack. Unfortunately, the dogs continued pulling him down by his legs, causing serious injuries.
Lupita also noted that the dogs were unattended at the time of the attack and were not on a leash. Her father now requires surgery to repair damaged tendons and ligaments due to the severity of his injuries.
Shockingly, this is not the first time the dogs have caused harm in the neighborhood. Miguel Jara, another resident, revealed that he was bitten by the same dogs about two months earlier.
Miguel shared his experience, explaining that he was bitten multiple times on his body while walking down the same street.
The dogs belong to a woman named Heidi, who lives nearby. She explained that she had been caring for the dogs after the original owner passed away. Heidi is now trying to find new homes for the dogs but claims that the neighbors have harassed her and the dogs.
Heidi also accused Jose of hitting the dogs, a claim that Jose firmly denied. He stated that he only tried to defend himself when they attacked.
After the recent attack, Animal Control was called to investigate. The authorities decided to remove the pit bulls from Heidi’s home, at least for the time being.
However, this action sparked a heated argument between Heidi and a group of neighbors. Tensions ran high as emotions flared, leading to yelling and accusations on both sides.
Lupita’s brother, Alberto Maytorena, expressed his frustration with the situation. He emphasized that the neighbors want Heidi to take responsibility for the dogs and prevent further incidents.
Alberto explained that everyone in the neighborhood is looking for action, and they hope to see the dogs either removed or kept safely contained.
The three pit bulls are currently at a shelter, but their future remains uncertain.
