Shocking Incident on Willis Avenue Bridge: Victim Assaulted and Robbed of High-Value Electric Bike!
A 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while riding his electric bike on the Willis Avenue Bridge in a shocking daylight attack.
The incident took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, at around 11:30 a.m., as the victim was traveling south on the bridge.
According to the police, the victim, who was on his electric bicycle, was approached by four unidentified males.
As the man reached the intersection of 1st Avenue and East 125th Street, the group of suspects blocked his path using two mopeds.
One of the attackers pulled out a gun, while another suspect showed a knife, creating a threatening situation for the victim.
The group then proceeded to forcefully throw the man off his bike, striking him with closed fists in the process.
The attackers then took the man’s electric bike, which was estimated to be worth around $2,850.
After stealing the bike, the suspects fled the scene on the mopeds, along with the stolen bike, heading northbound on the Willis Avenue Bridge.
Although the victim suffered minor injuries from the attack, he chose not to seek medical attention.
The police are now investigating the incident and are urging anyone who might have witnessed the robbery or has any information regarding the suspects to come forward and assist with the case.
