Shocking News: 34-Year-Old North Carolina Man Arrested Near NYS Fairgrounds After AR-15 Rifle Found in Truck!
A 34-year-old man from North Carolina, Curtis Young, was arrested on Saturday, August 24, near the New York State Fairgrounds for having an AR-15 rifle and a 30-round magazine in his truck.
New York State Police reported that Troopers noticed Young acting suspiciously after he exited his truck on the exit ramp from I-690 at State Fair Boulevard. Upon questioning, Young admitted to having the gun and magazine in the cab of his truck.
Young explained that he was not planning to visit the Fair and had gotten lost near the Fairgrounds. The New York State Police emphasized that the incident was unrelated to the Fairgrounds. According to New York State Police Technical Sergeant Jack Keller, the situation did not pose a direct threat to the event.

Young was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D Felony. Following his arrest, he was processed and taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center for CAP court arraignment.
