Shocking News: Jersey City Resident Arrested for Bayonne Hit-and-Run!

A Jersey City woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident that took place in Bayonne. The arrest was made on Thursday, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Kalimah Toon, a 37-year-old woman from Jersey City, was apprehended by members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit after the incident, which occurred on Sunday.

Toon is facing several serious charges, including Aggravated Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Endangering an Injured Victim.

These charges are categorized as second to fourth-degree crimes, indicating the severity of the offenses.

Following her arrest, Toon was brought to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus before being transferred to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

The Bayonne Police Department received a call about the incident at around 12:20 a.m., reporting that a pedestrian had been struck near Route 440 and 22nd Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 34-year-old Bayonne resident suffering from serious injuries.

Unfortunately, the vehicle responsible for the collision had fled the scene. The victim was quickly taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.
