Shocking Subway Attack: Man Beaten with His Own Baseball Bat in SoHo!

A man was beaten with his own baseball bat in a random attack on a subway in SoHo early Monday morning.

The victim, Jarrett Adorno, 25, recounted the terrifying incident and shared how it unfolded as he was heading home after a fun night out with friends.

According to Adorno, the attack came out of nowhere while he was on the fourth train. The suspect, who remains at large, reportedly got on the train at the Spring Street stop, grabbed a plastic baseball bat from Adorno’s backpack, and began hitting him in the face.

Adorno explained that the situation escalated quickly, leaving him in shock. “He just started going for it,” Adorno said.

“I was blocking, doing the best I could, covering my hands and my face.” Despite the brutal assault, Adorno managed to escape when the subway doors opened at the Bleecker Street station.

He quickly fled the scene, running a few blocks until he found a patrol car stationed at Prince and Greene streets.

The aftermath of the attack left Adorno with severe injuries. He suffered a broken nose, along with significant bruising and swelling around his head.

Additionally, he needed multiple sets of stitches across his face, totaling dozens. “Four different sets of dissolvable stitches… Eight here, nine there, another ten right here,” Adorno recalled, pointing out his injuries.

Despite the traumatic experience, Adorno expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal.

“I didn’t sustain any hemorrhaging in the brain, so I’m just happy about that. I just feel like I had an angel on my side,” he said.

Thankfully, Adorno’s recovery is progressing well, and doctors are optimistic about his full recovery.
