Shocking Words She Spoke Before Allegedly Killing Her Ex in a Blaze!
A Queens woman has been indicted on multiple charges, including murder and arson, after allegedly setting a fire that claimed two lives.
Authorities say the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, Nov. 2, behind a two-story home on 91st Avenue in Queens, New York.
Prosecutors allege that 43-year-old Aliya Fakhri arrived at a detached garage where her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, 35, was staying. Witnesses heard her yell, “You’re all going to die today,” moments before the garage erupted in flames. The fire quickly spread to the main house, where two people were trapped.
Anastasia Ettienne, 33, a friend of Jacobs, reportedly tried to rescue him after being alerted to the fire. Both were unable to escape as the flames engulfed the building. Tragically, they succumbed to smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
Jacobs’ mother revealed that her son and Fakhri had ended their relationship a year earlier, but Fakhri had struggled to move on.
“He tried to tell her to leave him alone, but she wouldn’t accept the rejection,” the mother shared, clarifying that Jacobs and Ettienne were not romantically involved but were platonic friends.
Jacobs leaves behind three children: 11-year-old twin boys and a 9-year-old son.
Fakhri, who is reportedly the sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, faces severe charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson in both the first and second degrees. If convicted, she could receive a life sentence.
“This defendant maliciously ended two lives by setting a fire that created a deadly inferno,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
“Our thoughts are with the families of Edward Jacobs and Anastasia Ettienne as we seek justice in this case.”
Fakhri remains in custody on Rikers Island and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 9. The case has drawn significant attention due to the devastating loss of life and the alleged motives behind the crime.
