State Police Crack Down on Impaired Driving: 4 Arrested in a Single Weekend!
State Police recently arrested four individuals on impaired driving charges, with one driver reportedly over three times the legal blood alcohol limit.
The arrests occurred over a two-day period, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat impaired driving in the state.
Jonathan X. Bessett, a 27-year-old from Cohoes, was arrested on November 9 after police received reports of an erratic vehicle on Route 146 in Clifton Park.
He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Police records indicate that Bessett has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, which may impact his charges.
Later that same day, just before 2:45 p.m., State Police responded to a one-car accident off the eastbound lane of I-90 in East Greenbush.
Michelle L. Marshall, a 41-year-old from Voorheesville, was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.22%, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08%. She was arrested on DWI charges following the crash.
According to the source, On the evening of November 9, around 10:15 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 67 in Malta for a suspected traffic violation.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Ryan A. Hendel of Mechanicville, was found to have a staggering blood alcohol concentration of 0.26%, which is over three times the legal limit. Hendel was taken into custody and charged with DWI.
The final arrest occurred early on November 10, around 12:30 a.m., when State Police pulled over a vehicle in Schenectady for another traffic violation.
The driver, 50-year-old Thein Tun Huang of Albany, was charged with DWI. Due to a prior DWI conviction within the last decade, the charge was upgraded to a felony.
State Police emphasized their commitment to road safety and urged drivers to avoid driving under the influence.
