Texas MAN Receives 30-year Federal SENTENCE for MOLESTING AND EXPLOITING 7-year-old

A Floresville, Texas, man will serve 30 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a 7-year-old child, the US Department of Justice announced in a news release.

Floresville is approximately thirty miles southeast of San Antonio.

According to court filings, Rodney Allan Felux, 45, sexually molested and exploited the girl while she was attending a residential daycare in December 2022. The victim informed her mother about the predatory sexual behavior, which prompted an investigation. In a forensic interview, the girl stated that she was sexually attacked while blindfolded and led to a shed where Felux took sexually explicit photographs of her, according to the news release.

Felux was arrested on January 11, 2023, and pleaded guilty in January 2024 to one count of sexual exploitation of children, according to the news release. In addition to the prison sentence, Felux faces a lifetime of supervised release and has been ordered by U.S. District Judge Fred Biery to pay $50,000 in reparations to the victim.

“This sentencing sends a clear message that we will not tolerate sexual abuse and exploitation of children in our community,” Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI’s San Antonio Field Office said in a press release. “The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners at the Wilson County Sheriff’s office, will continue to vigorously pursue every lead to rescue children who are being victimized, and bring their perpetrators to justice.”

The FBI and Wilson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tracy Thompson.

“As the court stated during the sentencing, the penalties are severe for this offense for a reason,” U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas Jaime Esparza said in a news statement. “This defendant has caused irreparable harm to this young girl based on his contemplated, planned, and acted upon predatory sexual behavior.”
