Three Suspects, Ages 13, 16, and 20, Charged with Gang Assault for Allegedly Attacking Buffalo Police Officer!

Three individuals, including two juveniles, were arrested and charged with gang assault after allegedly attacking a Buffalo police officer in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred during a police response to a reported altercation at an apartment building on the 1100 block of Jefferson Avenue, Buffalo, New York.

Buffalo Police were called to the scene around midnight, where officers encountered a group of juveniles engaged in a physical fight.

As officers attempted to break up the altercation, one officer was reportedly assaulted by several individuals. According to investigators, the suspects hit the officer multiple times during the scuffle.

The suspects involved in the incident include a 13-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl, and 20-year-old Jayla Moore.

All three have been charged with Gang Assault, Assault, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Due to the ages of the two minors, their identities have not been released, while Moore’s name was made public.

The injured police officer was taken to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for treatment and has since been released after receiving care. The severity of the officer’s injuries was not disclosed, though officials confirmed that the officer has returned home to recover.

Authorities have not provided additional details about what may have triggered the fight inside the apartment building, nor have they disclosed any information regarding prior relations between the suspects and the officer.

The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

The charges against the suspects carry significant weight, particularly the gang assault charge, which can be applied when multiple individuals are accused of attacking another person.
