Tragic Blaze in Queens: Nargis Fakhri’s Sister Allegedly Kills Ex and New Girlfriend!
NEW YORK — The sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri has been arrested for allegedly starting a deadly fire in Queens that killed her ex-boyfriend and his new female friend. Aliya Fakhri, 43, was taken into custody on charges of murder and arson on Tuesday.
Authorities say she set the blaze in a fit of jealousy that took the lives of Edward Jacobs, 35, and Anastasia “Star” Ettienne, 33.
The tragic incident occurred in a messy two-story garage in Jamaica, Queens, behind a private home on 91st Ave. near 175th St. The garage was a place where Jacobs had been squatting. The fire, which started on November 2, trapped the victims inside. Both died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily News, Aliya Fakhri’s mother expressed shock over the accusations, saying she could not believe her daughter was capable of murder. “I don’t think she would be killing someone,” she said. “She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.”
However, authorities have a different perspective. District Attorney Katz stated, “This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno.” She added that both victims tragically died in the fire.
Aliya Fakhri’s sister, Nargis Fakhri, is a well-known Bollywood actress with a significant following. Nargis is famous for her role in the 2011 film Rockstar and has appeared in other notable films, such as Spy in 2015, where she starred alongside Melissa McCarthy. Nargis has 16 million followers on Facebook and has built a successful career in the Indian film industry.
The mother of Aliya Fakhri, who has not seen her daughter in three years, believes the tragedy was linked to Aliya’s struggles with addiction. She shared that Aliya’s addiction to opioids began after a dental procedure went wrong about 10 years ago.
The mother explained that Aliya had a tooth pulled, which caused nerve damage, leaving her unable to move her tongue. After the procedure, Aliya sued the hospital and eventually won the lawsuit. However, in the meantime, she became addicted to OxyContin, a powerful painkiller.
This tragic incident has shocked both the community and the victims’ families, and questions remain about how Aliya Fakhri’s struggles led to such a devastating event.
