Tragic Shooting on South Broadway: Yonkers Man Killed in Early Morning Dispute!

A tragic shooting occurred early Sunday morning in Yonkers, resulting in the death of a man and the arrest of another. The incident took place around 4 a.m. in front of 289 South Broadway.

According to the Yonkers Police Department, the altercation began when two men got into a heated argument. During the confrontation, one man drew a gun, struck the other man with it, and then shot him in the chest.

Fortunately, two Yonkers police officers who were in the area heard the gunshot and rushed to help the victim. Despite their efforts to provide aid on the scene, the victim was later pronounced dead at a nearby trauma center.

The shooter fled the scene but was quickly apprehended on Ludlow Street, not far from where the incident occurred. While he discarded the gun during his escape, police managed to recover the weapon from a front yard in the vicinity.

The police have not yet released the victim’s name as they are still in the process of notifying his next of kin. No formal charges have been filed at this time. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
