Two Albany Men Arrested on Felony Weapon Charges After Traffic Stop Uncovers Illegal Firearm!
Two Albany men, Christian Billings, 52, and Jesse Dutcher, 28, were arrested on felony weapon charges after a traffic stop on Tuesday morning, as announced by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on August 20, when deputies pulled over a car for a reported traffic violation near Henry Johnson Boulevard and Livingston Avenue.
During the stop, deputies found that Billings, the driver, and Dutcher, the passenger, were allegedly in possession of a loaded, defaced, and illegally owned semi-automatic handgun, along with a box of ammunition. Both men were immediately taken into custody at the scene.
Following their arrest, Billings and Dutcher were charged with second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. In addition to the weapon charges, Billings was also cited for multiple traffic violations.
The two men were arraigned at the City of Albany Criminal Court and subsequently remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
