Two Men Arrested in Horrific Harlem Home Invasion That Shook a Woman and Child!
Two men have been charged in connection with a violent home invasion that took place in Harlem, which left a 56-year-old woman and her young grandchild terrified.
The crime, described as “horrific” by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg Jr., has shocked the community.
Justin Torres, 30, and Joshua Gomez, 33, face serious charges including robbery, burglary, and endangering the welfare of a child. These charges come after their involvement in the violent attack, which occurred early on the morning of October 9, 2024.
According to reports, Torres and Gomez arrived in a car linked to Torres. They then forced their way into the victim’s apartment, brandishing firearms.
Once inside, they threatened the victims, demanding the location of a safe while ransacking the entire apartment.
During the attack, the suspects stole a variety of items, including cash, valuables, passports, a cell phone, and a purse. They fled the scene shortly after the robbery, leaving the victims shaken and traumatized.
Thankfully, through the coordinated efforts of the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, both suspects were arrested.
The investigation into the crime was led by Assistant District Attorney Danielle Turcotte, with help from Trial Preparation Assistant Laila Skramstad. Detective Alexis Gaton, from the NYPD’s Central Robbery Division, played an important role in the investigation, working closely with other members of the NYPD’s robbery investigation team and the 28th Precinct Patrol and Detective Squad.
District Attorney Alvin Bragg emphasized the seriousness of the case and pledged to pursue justice.
“This investigation is ongoing, and we will seek full accountability for this horrific home invasion,” Bragg said, underlining the importance of bringing justice to the victims and ensuring the safety of the public.
