Two People Recovering from Stabbing Injuries in Albany Have a Suspect in Custody!

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Albany. Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing at around 4:20 p.m. on the 100 block of Grand Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered two victims—a 37-year-old woman who had a cut on her hand and a 13-year-old girl who had been injured in the mouth. Both individuals were treated on-site before being transported to Albany Medical Center for further care.

Authorities quickly identified and arrested 38-year-old Paul Smith. He now faces several charges, including second-degree assault, third-degree assault, third-degree possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Smith is currently in custody while the investigation continues, but police have not released any further details on the motivation or circumstances that led to the incident.
