Violent Weekend in NYC: Man Stabbed and Teen Shot in Separate Bus Incidents!
A man was stabbed late Sunday evening on a Manhattan city bus, just hours after a separate incident on a Bronx bus ended in a teen being shot.
Around 10 p.m., a 23-year-old man was involved in a fight while riding the Bx12 bus in Inwood. According to police reports, the altercation took place near West 207th Street and Sherman Avenue. During the scuffle, the man was stabbed multiple times, including in the abdomen and on the back of his neck.
Videos shared on the Citizen App showed the victim walking to an ambulance with bandages wrapped around his torso, visibly injured. He was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition, police said.
The stabbing incident happened less than six hours after a similar dispute involving a teenager on a Bronx bus escalated into gun violence. Around 4 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot after an altercation broke out on a Bx35 bus in the Morrisania neighborhood. The fight continued as passengers spilled out onto the sidewalk near 168th Street and Park Avenue, where the teenager was shot in the arm.
The teen was quickly transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with either the stabbing in Manhattan or the shooting in the Bronx. Both incidents remain under investigation.
These two violent altercations on city buses have raised concerns about safety for those using public transportation. In both cases, arguments turned into physical violence, putting passengers and bystanders at risk. Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to help identify those involved.
