Couple Convicted: The Shocking Murder of Wife’s Ex-Husband in Beacon!

A couple from Amsterdam, New York, has been convicted of murdering the wife’s ex-husband in Beacon, as well as disposing of his body and abandoning his car in a high-crime area of Newburgh.

Jamie Orsini, 38, and her second husband, Nicholas Orsini, 36, were found guilty in a federal court in White Plains.

The couple’s actions led to a conviction for carjacking, resulting in death, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

In addition, they were also convicted of conspiracy to commit carjacking, which has a maximum sentence of five years.

The crime took place in 2020 when Jamie and Nicholas Orsini conspired to kill Jamie’s ex-husband, Steven Kraft.

This murder was part of a larger plot that involved careful planning and execution, designed to cover their tracks and make it difficult for the authorities to trace the crime back to them.

The couple had custody of Jamie and Steven Kraft’s children. On April 28, 2020, after Steven Kraft dropped his daughters off with the Orsinis in Beacon, the couple murdered him.

They then took his car and phone, driving the car to a high-crime area in Newburgh to make it seem like Kraft had gone missing in that part of town.

To further cover their tracks, they discarded Kraft’s phone and used a burner phone to call a taxi that took them back to Beacon. Before getting into the taxi, they disposed of the burner phone as well.

In an attempt to hide evidence, the Orsinis destroyed or disposed of Kraft’s body, along with any physical evidence that could tie them to the crime.

They even went as far as creating large homemade incinerators to burn evidence.

The couple continued using burner phones as they traveled back and forth from upstate New York after the murder, ensuring that their communications couldn’t be traced back to them.

Jamie Orsini tried to make it appear as though she believed Kraft was still alive. She sent several text messages that created the impression that she was unaware of his fate.

In conversations with the police, she hinted that Kraft may have gone to Newburgh after leaving his home, suggesting that something bad might have happened to him in that area.

This was all part of her attempt to mislead the authorities and shift suspicion away from herself and her husband.

The crime shocked the local communities of Beacon and Newburgh, and the conviction has brought some sense of closure to the tragic events of 2020.
