11-year-old SCOOTER RIDER KILLED BY CAR in San Jose; 30th Fatal Traffic Accident of 2024

Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, an 11-year-old was murdered after he was hit by a car in southern San Jose.

According to authorities, the tragic crash occurred on Camden Avenue near the Cambrian Park area. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the spot. This occurred at a busy crossing in San Jose, along Highway 85.

The child is believed to have been riding a scooter.

A yellow scooter may be seen in the junction on video.

The westbound side of Camden Avenue between Leigh and Charmeran Avenues remains closed, and traffic will be “heavily impacted,” according to police.

Joseph Bedodo works at a real estate firm across the street.

“I mean,n I’ve been in the area for about 30 years and I’ve seen this to be one of the busiest intersections in the whole city of San Jose,” Bedodo told me.

Bedodo claimed that his father was injured by a car several years ago. He expresses his deepest sympathies to the child’s family.

“I just pray to God that he will give them healing and that’s all I can say,” Bedodo told the audience.

According to police, the driver remained at the site and is participating in the investigation.

It’s the city’s 30th deadly crash in 2024.
