A guy from Texas died and a woman is in critical condition after being shocked in a jacuzzi at a resort in Mexico

It is said that a 43-year-old guy died after being shocked by electricity in a jacuzzi in Mexico.

A post on Facebook from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Justice of the State of Sonora says the event happened at about 8:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 11, at a group of private condos in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.

The man’s name was given as Jorge “N,” and the statement said he was in the pool with Lizeth “N.” That the man died and the woman was hurt because of a “possible electric discharge.”

Authorities are now looking into what happened and will try to “determine the origin of the electric failure,” according to the statement.

Some news sites, like NBC News, CBS4, and KTSM, say the man was from El Paso, Texas.

It was revealed by family members to CBS4 that the couple involved was Jorge Guillen and Lizette Zambrano. The news source says that Zambrano, 35, is still in serious condition and is being treated in the hospital. KTSM says that she has now been taken to the U.S.

The news source says that the event happened at the Sonoran Sea Resort. People asked the resort for a comment, but they didn’t answer right away.

KTSM reports that a witness told police that she tried to help the couple in the tub but was shocked when she tried to get in.

The Arizona Daily Star says that nurse Sara Gaitan-Perez from Goodyear, Arizona, was staying at the resort when the event took place. Gaitan-Perez told the news source that the couple was the only one in the hot tub when the shock happened.

“We had just come up from the pool, and my husband and son had been in that hot tub about an hour before,” the nurse who did CPR on the couple told the news source.

“The wife eventually woke up and was breathing on her own by the time she was taken to the ambulance on a gurney,” Gaitan-Perez told the news source.

As of Thursday, June 13, over $27,000 had been raised through a GoFundMe page set up to help the couple’s relatives.
