Restaurant 605, a popular eatery located on New Scotland Avenue, is expanding its culinary reach with a brand-new venture. The owners recently announced on Facebook that they’re opening a new spot called 605Smash. This new joint will specialize in what they’re touting as “the best smash burgers and fried chicken sandwiches in the 518.”
The menu at 605Smash will be straightforward, offering just three main options: a cheeseburger, a double cheeseburger, and a fried chicken sandwich, along with french fries as a side option. This focused approach comes from the popularity of these items at the original Restaurant 605, where they’ve become fan favorites despite a more extensive menu that includes a variety of sandwiches, tacos, and sides.
The owners, Gabe Moya, and his fiancée Cory Winne, decided to create a separate venue dedicated to these popular dishes after noticing how much customers loved them. Their new eatery will be located at 560 Madison Avenue in Albany, and they’re aiming to open by the end of summer.
