Bridgerton Fans Are Angry that A Themed Event that Cost up To $1,000 a Ticket Failed Spectacularly!
Bridgerton fans are fuming after paying hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for what they expected to be an elegant, Regency-era experience, only to be met with a night of disappointment.
The much-hyped event, hosted in Detroit on September 22, promised fans a grand Bridgerton-themed ball but ended up being a poorly organized flop that left attendees feeling cheated.
The Bridgerton Themed Ball, which had tickets starting at $150 and reaching up to $1,000 for the premium Duke and Duchess package, was supposed to transport attendees into the world of the popular Netflix series.
The event was advertised as an evening of grace, sophistication, and historical charm, complete with dinner, live orchestral music, professional photos, dancing, and valet service. However, what attendees got was far from the promised glamorous affair.
Many fans, excited to immerse themselves in the Bridgerton experience, went all out for the event, spending additional money on fancy ball gowns, flights to Detroit, and accommodations in hopes of living out their Bridgerton dreams.
Unfortunately, their anticipation turned to frustration as soon as they arrived at the venue.
Guests were shocked to find a lackluster setup at the three-story Harmonie Club. Instead of the grand ballroom they envisioned, they were greeted by cheap decorations, a lone violinist providing the evening’s “orchestra,” and a pole-dancing stripper, who later revealed she was hired just hours before the event.
Photos and videos from the event quickly circulated online. They showed disappointed guests sitting on the floor in their expensive ballgowns, scrolling through their phones, clearly bored and underwhelmed.
It wasn’t long before comparisons were made to other disastrous events, such as the infamous Fyre Festival.
The ball, organized by Uncle & Me LLC, had originally been scheduled for late August. However, just days before the event, attendees were informed that it had been postponed. Many fans had already booked flights and accommodations, only to find themselves scrambling to adjust their plans at the last minute.
The company claimed the original venue couldn’t accommodate the number of attendees, but some event-goers later alleged the real reason for the delay was the company’s failure to pay the full rental fee for the venue.
Uncle & Me LLC refused to offer refunds, and attendees who requested their money back were met with silence. This left many fans feeling scammed, and the lack of communication only fueled their frustration.
On the day of the rescheduled event, things didn’t get any better. Fans who had waited in the rain to enter were shocked to see over 60 people leaving the venue before they had even stepped inside.
One TikTok user shared that they were encouraged to skip the event altogether and go bar hopping instead.
Once inside, the disorganization was evident. No one was checking tickets at the door, allowing anyone to walk in. Attendees, who had dressed to the nines in custom suits and ballgowns, found themselves wandering around without any direction.
One Reddit user described the experience as feeling like a “local festival” rather than a high-society ball, with local vendors selling goods instead of the refined Bridgerton atmosphere they were promised.
Many fans, heartbroken by the experience, left early, citing disappointment and frustration. The event’s failure quickly became a hot topic on social media, with attendees sharing their horror stories and warning others to avoid future events organized by Uncle & Me LLC.
In the wake of this disaster, fans have drawn comparisons to other infamous event flops, including a Willy Wonka-themed festival in Glasgow and the notorious Fyre Festival in the Bahamas, which left attendees stranded with no food, shelter, or entertainment.
