ONE DEAD AND THREE INJURED in Early Morning Shooting Incident in Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO – A shooting that took place early on Sunday morning on the South Side of Chicago resulted in the death of one individual and the injury of three others.

When a quarrel with another group developed into gunfire at approximately 3:01 a.m., some males were reportedly present outside of Lawrence’s Fish and Shrimp, which is located in the 2100 block of South Canal Street in Chicago when the incident occurred.

A male victim, aged 39, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Following the findings of the medical examiner, he was recognized as Joseph Miller Garcia.

Stroger Hospital received a man who was 34 years old and was sent there with gunshot wounds to the leg. His condition was considered to be fair.

Two further victims, a man aged 21 and another man aged 27, were self-transported to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds at the time of the incident. It is reported that the individual who is 21 years old is in good health, however, the individual who is 27 years old is in serious condition with several gunshot wounds.

District One investigators are currently investigating the events that led up to the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
