Pakistani Restaurant Makes a Comeback: Now Serving Albany and Menands!

Curry Patta, a beloved Pakistani eatery, has returned to the Capital Region with new locations in Menands and Albany.

After closing its original Altamont location at the end of 2022, owner Nadia Raza is excited to bring her flavors back to the community.

The first of the two new spots, Curry Patta Café and Catering, opened its doors in Menands at the Riverview Center, located at 150 Broadway, at the end of May.

Just last week, Raza opened her second location in Albany, inside the State Office building at 44 Holland Avenue.

Both restaurants offer a cafeteria-style experience, making it easy for customers to grab a quick meal or takeout. The Albany location boasts a much larger kitchen, allowing Raza to expand her catering services.

Curry Patta’s menu is diverse, offering a range of breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, pizza, salads, and soups.

However, the true highlight is the authentic Pakistani cuisine. Customers can enjoy traditional dishes like kebabs, channa masala, and the popular chicken biryani.

In addition, Curry Patta offers daily specials that can be checked out on their Facebook page, keeping things fresh and exciting for regulars.

Raza had originally planned to reopen Curry Patta earlier, with locations in Delmar or Troy. Still, her plans were delayed due to a personal battle with cancer that kept her out of commission for a year.

During that time, Raza and her partner Joe Conklin also opened Joe’s Township Tavern in Knox, where Raza occasionally served her Pakistani dishes. Unfortunately, the tavern had to close in September 2023 due to staffing challenges.

Both of Curry Patta’s new locations in Albany and Menands are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. In an effort to make her food more accessible to a wider audience, Raza is also working on adding DoorDash delivery services for both spots.

This will allow customers to enjoy Curry Patta’s offerings from the comfort of their own homes or workplaces.
