San Francisco POLICE IDENTIFY FATAL SHOOTING VICTIM; Two Others Injured in Market Street Attack

On Wednesday, the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man murdered in a triple shooting in the Mid-Market area on Monday night, which also injured two people.

Authorities identified the gunshot victim as 35-year-old Jimmy Lee Thomas III.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection system activation in the 1000 block of Market Street at 10:49 p.m. Monday, and while en route, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound near Sixth and Market streets, according to San Francisco police.

The man was sent to a hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Officers discovered another man injured close to Seventh and Stevenson streets and transported him to a hospital, where he is likely to survive, according to police.

A third victim, later identified as San Francisco resident Thomas, was discovered in the 1000 block of Market Street and sent to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Police have not offered an update on the other two victims’ conditions since confirming the shooting on Tuesday.
