TWO DEAD, FIVE INJURED in Gang-related Shooting Near Lancaster: Southern California Sheriff’s Department Reports
A gang-related shooting in Southern California’s high desert killed two individuals and injured five others, according to authorities.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the site near Lancaster, roughly 42 miles (68 kilometers) north of downtown Los Angeles, soon before 6 p.m. Wednesday, for a reported gunshot victim.
Deputies discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds, both of whom died in the hospital, the sheriff’s department reported in a news release Thursday.
Authorities eventually discovered that the five other victims had been rushed to the emergency department with gunshot wounds. They were steady on Thursday.
The organization stated that all of the victims were in the same location during the violence.
The sheriff’s department did not disclose any additional information regarding why investigators suspect the shooting was gang-related. No arrests have been made, and the victims’ identities have not been revealed.
