Albany Police Find Drugs, Arrest Three People
In Albany, police conducted two separate searches for drugs, resulting in three people getting arrested. The first search happened on First Street just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday. They found a 19-year-old named Kareem Beasley from Troy inside a house with crack cocaine.
Before this, they stopped a 51-year-old named Tashawn Tarver on Quail Street and arrested him too. Beasley was charged with having drugs, while Tarver was charged with selling drugs. Beasley got released after going to court, but Tarver got sent to jail.
The second search was on Thurlow Terrace around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. They found a 73-year-old named William Hartfield inside with powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and things used to sell drugs. Hartfield got charged with having drugs and drug-selling stuff. He also got sent to jail after going to court.
These searches weren’t connected, but both show how police are working to stop drugs from being sold and used in Albany. It’s important for keeping people safe and stopping the harm drugs can cause.
These arrests highlight the persistent challenges posed by illicit drug trafficking and distribution networks, necessitating a coordinated response from authorities to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.
