Rome Drug Network Uncovered—Arrest Made After Long Investigation!

Rome, N.Y. — In a successful end to a lengthy investigation, Rome police arrested a Syracuse man on Friday on serious drug and weapons charges.

The Rome Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, after working on this case for a significant period, conducted several search warrants as part of an investigation aimed at breaking up cocaine distribution networks within the City of Rome.

During the search, officers found 133 individual packages of cocaine ready for distribution. They also discovered two handguns, ammunition, and nearly $400 in cash, all seized as evidence. This significant finding highlights the scale of the operation and the dangers posed by drug activity in the area.

The man arrested, Alfred L. Thomas, 39, now faces multiple charges due to his alleged involvement in the drug trade and possession of illegal weapons.

Thomas has been charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

This arrest is part of the Rome Police Department’s continued efforts to keep the community safe and combat drug-related activities within the city.

Law enforcement officials continue to monitor and investigate suspicious activities in Rome and the surrounding areas to prevent drug distribution and illegal firearm possession.
