Shortly before 9 a.m. on March 14, ISP troopers were dispatched to a weigh station on I-70 near the Illinois/Indiana state line to perform a welfare check requested by a trucking company after the company was unable to make contact with the driver, according to ISP Public Information Officer Matt Ames .
