2 People die when gunfire breaks out in a community in Southern California

Authorities said  that shooting broke out in a residential neighborhood in northern Los Angeles County, leaving two people dead and numerous others injured.

Just before six o’clock in the evening, there was gunfire in Lancaster on the 800 block of E Avenue J-12.

Although there are little details and it’s unclear exactly how the terrible incident happened, freelance photojournalist Luis Meza claims that shooting broke out while a number of individuals were loitering outside an apartment complex at the scene.

The aftermath of the shooting was seen on camera, with a large number of L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives present. Shell shells and blood were visible in the street and on the pavement outside the apartment building.

Two of the victims were taken to the hospital and declared dead, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Meza claims that at least six more gunshot victims drove themselves to the hospital; however, the sheriff’s office has not verified this information to KTLA.

Meza added that there were two shooters: one with an AR-15 rifle and the other with a 9mm handgun.

In the last twenty-four hours, there have been four shootings in Lancaster. Tuesday night’s three shootings claimed the lives of two more individuals and injured a third.
