3 People are badly hurt when a propane tank explodes in Fort Myers

On Thursday, three people were hurt in Fort Myers when they used a gas torch to work on a hydraulic line.

Southwest Waste says that a gas tank blew up on Jacksonville Street, hurting three people very badly and sending them to Gulf Coast Hospital.

Police from Fort Myers and Lee County have been sent to the scene.

At this point, it’s not clear what caused the blast. The probe is still going on. (News Source)

The following comment was made by a company representative:

“At around 11 am we had a fire at one of our sites that resulted from a welding incident. The fire was put out within a matter of seconds but in the process 3 of our employees suffered burn injuries.

We are monitoring the situation and investigating further to figure out exactly how the fire started. We appreciate the first responders who assisted and acted fast to take care of our team members.
