A Multi-vehicle crash in Baldwin Hills is the result of the LAPD chasing an alleged stolen car

After a police chase in Baldwin Hills resulted in a horrific multi-car collision, an investigation is currently ongoing.

The crash occurred at South La Brea Avenue and Obama Boulevard on Sunday at approximately 6:15 p.m. The Los Angeles Police Department reports that for a brief period of time, officers were pursuing two young girls in an allegedly stolen Kia.

Prior to the collision with a Chevrolet truck and a BMW, the driver of the stolen vehicle was reportedly driving in a reckless manner, according to the police.

“They both had the green light in the intersection… and the suspect vehicle ran the red light at the intersection of La Brea and Obama,” said Sergeant Kevin Ahlemeir in his report.

The drivers of the other vehicles were both transported to the hospital with relatively minor injuries after the collision.

The authorities have brought the accused into custody.
