Man shot dead near Hyde Park’s Metro K Line Station, according to police
According to officials, a man was shot and killed on Saturday after a fight outside a Hyde Park metro station.
The Los Angeles Police Department reports that the incident occurred at 12:43 p.m. on the walkway next to the Hyde Park K Line Station on Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard.
The victim and the suspect allegedly got into a fight, according to the investigators. As the victim approached the Metro station platform at that point, the suspect allegedly opened fire and fired several bullets, according to the police.
According to the police, the guy might have had a semi-automatic weapon on him. The unidentified person was taken to a nearby hospital and subsequently passed away there.
The suspect was last observed traveling east on 59th Street from Crenshaw. He was described as wearing jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, and a red shirt.
This Saturday marked the second homicide and the sixth gunshot in the LAPD’s 77th Division, according to the authorities.
Metro released a statement that said, “Metro extends its sympathies to the victim’s family.” “While the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) conducts its investigation, Metro Hyde Park Station is temporarily closed. Until further notice, K Line trains are reversing at Leimert and Fairview Heights Stations.”
