Middleburgh Cold Case Reopened: Troopers Investigate Disappearance After 38 Years!

MIDDLEBURGH, N.Y. — State Police are still investigating the disappearance of Erica Franolich from Middleburgh 38 years after she went missing. As of Sunday, it marks nearly four decades since her family last heard from her.

According to State Police, Franolich last communicated with her family in Michigan on October 13, 1986. After they lost contact with her, she was reported missing.

Franolich is described as a white woman who was born on August 12, 1960. She is five feet four inches tall, weighs around 100 pounds, and has brown eyes. A mole on her left knee could be a distinctive feature.

She was also known by the name Erica Jane Poprafsky. Franolich was last spotted near Main Street in Middleburgh, wearing blue denim overalls paired with a bulky shirt. Authorities suspect she may have been a victim of foul play.
